01 The challenge we faced
TMF Group is a global professional services firm providing accounting, tax, payroll and HR services.
The company employs over 6,000 staff across 100 offices in over 80 countries with a client base including Fortune 500, FTSE 250 and other multinational companies looking to expand internationally.
Recognising the need to change to stay competitive in an increasingly competitive marketplace, TMF Group were looking to seize the opportunity and transform their business for the digital age.
Rainmaker was challenged to understand the needs of both internal users and customers around the world in order to inform the design of a global digital transformation programme with the objective of doubling turnover from £500m to £1bn by 2020.
02 Tacking the problem
Running C-Suite workshops to clarify challenges and develop an aspirational vision, values and guiding principles, we provided Clarity of Purpose to the organisation for the first time and galvanised leadership to think beyond ‘keeping the lights on’, focussing on innovation and market differentiation.
We uncovered the needs of the business, clients, market trends, cultural factors and relevant regulations/policies, developing user personas and comprehensive service blueprints which provided unprecedented insight into current issues.
Using Rainmaker Software’s unique Wardley mapping/component capabilities we, also for the first time, mapped TMF Group’s highly complex architecture - a consequence of multiple mergers/acquisitions and lack of integration investment.
Situational awareness insights demonstrated how to drive savings whilst also enabling innovation. We used this insight to run strategic gameplay workshops, where data and insight clearly showed where to act and why in order to deliver significant savings whilst driving real innovation.
